Peter Belisle is in his tenth season as the head coach at UMass Boston. The 2013 ECAC East Coach of the Year and New England Hockey Writers Association Division II/III Coach of the Year recipient is the all-time winningest coach in UMass Boston history. After taking over the program prior to the 2006-07 season, Belisle has recorded double-digit wins in seven straight seasons, including leading the team to a winning record each of the past three years. The

Beacons enjoyed the program’s best season in over three decades in 2012-13, as they were nationally ranked for much of the year and finished 19-6-2 overall. Belisle led the Beacons to a second-place finish in the ECAC East and a season-ending #14 national ranking. UMass Boston is off to an ever better start in the 2013-14 season, as UMB has set the program-record for unbeaten streak (13 games) and set a school record for highest national ranking at number six in the D3Hockey.com poll (January 13, 2014). Belisle became the program's 11th head coach after spending nine years with Division I University of Connecticut as an assistant coach. He returned to UConn to help guide the program that he was once a part of as a four-year standout forward (‘91-‘95). Belisle's coaching experience is not limited to his collegiate tenure, having instructed and been a coach at several of New England's premier hockey camps. He has served as a head instructor at the Connecticut Hockey Experience, the Learn to Skate Program at UConn, the Bill Belisle Hockey School, and the Mount Saint Charles Instructional Hockey Program and coached at the USA Hockey Team New England Select 14-15 and Select 16- 17 Player Development Camps.
